Good evening!
I am happy to say I am enjoying a quiet sit-down on my back patio in the fresh evening air. It's so beautiful, I'm determined not to let anything bother me, even the gnats buzzing around me - incessantly -- and they keep tickling my arm -- and sometimes they just flat gross me out. BUT, it's beautiful outside and I'm sitting down. After two days of spreading mulch while the kids were in school, I'm tired as a woman. I did sneak a little crafty time in this afternoon while the kids were playing and before Hubby got home from work. I went to my desk and saw the reminders I'd left myself for my ideas related to this week's Colour Q colors, but after little deliberation I completely changed my mind.
I kept debating the purchase of the Rosie Posie stamp set from PTI after falling in love with the floral images on so many pretty blog posts I've visited. I wasn't wild about the hexagons that were included and it seemed "expensive" (for me) not to like all the stamps in the set. (I've said it once, I'll say it again. It's not easy being a tightwad AND a papercrafter! It's like two facets of my inner self working against each other. I argue with myself!) However, I just kept seeing those roses and flowers stamped up so beautifully on fellow crafters cards and decided to throw caution to the wind.
And, wouldn't you know it - I've already used the hexagons more than the flowers from this set? It's turning out to be my favorite part. So, as the score goes: Crafty Inner Self - 1; Tightwad Inner Self - 0. (Mind you, that is not a lifetime cumulative total.)
I had a lot of fun with this one because it felt a little "different" than my usual pieces. I need a little more practice lining up the "inside" stamps, but I think it's working okay for this card.
Thanks so much for stopping by to visit!
