Paper Smooches SPARKS Photo Challenge

This week's SPARKS challenge is to use the inspirational photo in your project.

I'm not sure why - but something came to mind almost immediately. That rarely, if ever, happens for me! Most of the time, I putter around and watch a little TV in my crafty space and stare aimlessly. Ha!

Here is what I came up with using the Paper Smooches Reflections stamp set:

I was so proud of this one because it is exactly what I had pictured, but the photo didn't turn out great. (Figures! Just my luck!) I snapped two last night after my last-of-the-weekend-crafting-session and the other turned out great.

I stamped the Reflections images on Rasberry Fizz cardstock in the same ink. I used Simply Chartreuse ink on some scrap green cardstock and Smokey Shadow ink on CTMH's Gray Wool cardstock. I then trimmed each strip to have a banner end, adhered them to my card, and stitched a couple of lines over the top of each banner. I stamped the 'celebrate' from Scripty Sayings and then added a few enamel dots in matching colors from My Mind's Eye.

Retro Sketches #110 - Watts & Watts

I am sharing a card I made tonight for this week's Retro Sketch. I splurged and got this month's Simon Says Stamp card kit because I so loved the fun little stamp set and it was unlike any others that I already have. I thought it looked fun and it is! But, I've been pretty busy since it came in and I've only made a couple of cards with it. Yikes! So, I wanted to give it a whirl with this sketch:

Everything I used came in the kit with the exception of the Black twine (PTI), Liquid Glass (CTMH), and red marker (Spectrum Noir). I colored in the heart and covered it in Liquid Glass for some shine (I had seen this done on another blog and got the idea).  I loved the pink and black patterns together but was only "okay" with how the Goldrush rays and Honey light bulb came together with the rest of it (CTMH colors). Oh well. Win some, lose some, right?  =) Have a great week!

Colour Q #236

Hello!

I'm about to be out the door to take care of errands for the school and myself. Ugh. I'm not a fan of the errands. I'd much rather have a million things to do at home, than things outside the house! So when I'm out, I do try to take care of everything at once, if possible. Just to save me trips.

I'm sharing a card I made yesterday afternoon (quickly!) using this week's Colour Q colors.

I went very clean and simple and used my PTI set "Leave It Be":

I stamped the leaves in Sky blue and Sorbet inks, then stamped the veins in Lagoon and Smoothie inks. I rounded the corners, added the sentiment and a few coordinating dots and that was it! Very easy!

AEI[Heart]U Challenge #4 - Watercolor

Hello!

I'm super tired tonight after an uber productive day today! And, that's a good thing coming after my "day off" yesterday. Shhhhh....I was NOT uber productive yesterday.

So, I'm going to pop in and share my card then beddie bye for me.

I played along with this week's AEI<3U watercolor challenge. I have some gelatos I bought after I got a bee in my bonnet for a little home décor project that I have yet to finish start. (Color me surprised). But, I have been using them on paper and really liking them.

Challenge 4

Here is my card using the gelatos to create a watercolor background, accents from All Squared Up, and the sentiment from Laurels (LOVE that font!!!):

I colored the gelatos directly onto the paper and then used a wet paintbrush to smooth them out. After they dried (Of course I did not get impatient and give it a blast with my heat gun. I'm surprised you even asked that!), I stamped the triangles in coordinating colors and the sentiment. I added a few yellow dots for dimension and matted it all on a card base of Aqua Mist cardstock (PTI). The yellow twine is from American Crafts.

PS SPARKS Anything Goes

Hello!

I must admit I'm a little surprised at how long it's been since my last post! Seems I should get with it. I've made a few cards for submission calls, but not been all that busy with the challenges. Lacking mojo on that front. =) And, I'm still on my mission for this school year to get through several books I've had on loan from my BFF for an embarrassingly long amount of time. If you're a reader you know easily how time can get lost if you are absorbed in a good book. Just today, I was sucked into a suspense that kept me tied up all afternoon! {Giggle} Shhhhhh.....I had to make up for it tonight and catch up on my "duties". My daughter kept saying, "You're obsessed with that book!". I knew I wouldn't stop reading it tonight until I was finished. Yikes. I was right. I had to know who did it!

I have a card to share for this weeks SPARKS challenge, "Anything Goes". I love all the little Paper Smooches critters. And they are so fun to color. I'm not that great at coloring and I like PS stamps. Good thick lines. Exactly what I looked for in a coloring book when I was younger. =) Although not as young as you would like to think. But, no need to get into those details right now.

Here is my card using PS Chilly Chums set, the cute little fox:

I colored him using my Spectrum Noir Markers and trimmed him out. The chevron paper is My Mind's Eye (On the Bright Side) and the other patterned paper is CTMH Footloose scraps. I stamped the sun and used the die cut from PTI's Heart To Heart #6 set (because I had to have a sun!) and the hello is stamped from Scripty Sayings. I cut the polaroid frame using my Silhouette and a cute Jillibean Soup frame set I purchased. The clouds are Freckled Fawn's Clouds wood chips set.
