I'm BACK Ba-by!!!

I have almost had withdrawals. Virtually no scrapping and absolutely no blogging over the past 2 weeks. Sadly, I can not account for my time and say what I have been doing. I know I've been busy working on something. I hesitate to say housework -- b/c I stop to look around and ... EWWW--it's a fright!

But regardless, I made 2 cards tonight! One for the Play Date Cafe Challenge (which I was a day late and a dollar short -- surprise of the century)...and the other for Mojo Monday -- a round or square sketch challenge.

I thought this one was hard for some reason I struggled at first -- even ripped a few pcs. off my card front and started over. :) Using Close To My Heart paper and products of course. The kraft cardstock is not, but everything else is.

AND........my interpretation.......

H2H -- Home Decor

I lucked out on this challenge! I had a home decor piece I made for one of my nieces at Christmas this year and I was so proud of it. This one materialized in my head weeks before I ever got the chance to execute. It was harder to find this frame than I thought it would be. It seems everything is made for different size and different direction photos. I ordered this one from Target.com and since I cut it to close to the mark and didn't have time, I had to order a brown one (black was out of stock) and my Knight-in-Shining-Armor painted it black for me. ... Like many prior Christmases I was running around like crazy trying to get all my gifts "finished"....so many ideas, so little time.

Karly loved it and was surprised to find out I made it for her. It was totally worth all the effort (Even though it wasn't difficult at all.)

Believe it or not, this is Hooligans paper and the "Be Yourself" stamp set. (Both still currently available).

H2H Challenge -- Create a Scene with 3 Stamps

I thought this was a fun challenge. Very different -- and it motivated me to use a stamp set that I haven't used very much. (Even better in my book!)
I wanted this stamp set for our last vacation to St. Louis (more specifically, Six Flags) but alas I have been remiss in putting my vision to paper once again.
So--H2H to the rescue.
This card uses the currently available "Zippidee" paper, the "Thrill Ride" stamp set, and the "Ticket to Ride"stamp set from the "Zippidee" workshop-on-the-go kit. I tried to use the antiquing method that utilizes a sponged Desert Sand ink on top of the Indian Corn Blue or Cranberry ink already on the stamp.

Mojo JoJo

The sketch for this weeks Mojo Monday challenge fit with my timing of needing a birthday card for a friend at work. Multi-tasking -- my (not-so) forte!
I will say, in all honesty, I wanted to do something to add my own twist to the sketch - but that "twist" was not intentionally flipping it around the opposite direction. .... that was just a stroke of "Mandy" when i cut my paper diagonally. I had a real "duh" moment with that one.

Using retired CTMH paper "Silhouette" and the "Piece of Cake" stampset (currently available).

H2H - Color Challenge -- Gypsy, Creme Brulee, & Black

I wasn't sure about this one. I struggled a little. For one, it was a struggle to even find Creme Brulee in my stash! ha! And, you know I didn't want to mess with what little Aspen I had left. (We've already discussed that.) :D
This one turned out nothing like what I had originally designed in my head - but I still really liked the end result. It was a design-as-I-go sort of thing. Trial and error, for sure.

Mojo Monday - Feb 28th -- Sketch

I went round! My first time. It was different. It was fun. Avery discovered my Coluzzle cirlce cutting tools and went nuts. So, it made it worth it. :) I love to see her getting creative almost as much as I enjoy doing it myself. She tickles me.
Still LOVING my new stamp set that came with the Sophia paper. But this time paired it with the Unforgettable paper from many moons ago. I am a Juniper fan and I love the background piece on this card.  (Sometimes I actually enjoy how much paper I have stashed...stash = options!)

Mojo Sketch:

My version:
Sorry it's crooked. You are not losing it -- you may feel the need to tilt your head to the left a little for good reason....I'm not sure how to photograph a round card; it rolled! Pin It
