Hello on a rainy afternoon! We are confined to the house today. :) Finally got together with our church friends at the pool and were chased inside after a few short hours. However, I was tickled to death that were able to be outside and get to swim as long as we did. Since the forecast doesn't look much better this week, we will take what we get and be grateful for it. :)
I am here to share a card I made last night, before the rainstorms chased Miss Priss and I out of the [upstairs] craft room. Yikes - it's loud up there!
This one was inspired by this week's MUSE Challenge.
Here is the inspiration piece, by Therese Calvrid.
Once I realized how those letters were popped up on the cute card, I wanted to try. I love how it turned out (although sadly I don't think my picture shows it very well. BOOO!)
I used paper from my newly acquired (Thanks Sastor!) Hey You 6x6 pad by Basic Grey. I die cut "thanks" using my CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge using the patterned paper. I then cut it again (exactly the same) 3 more times using Aqua Mist cardstock, the same color as the card base. I tried to get an angle on my photo which allowed the letter layers to show, but they didn't as well as I wanted.
I trimmed a strip of Rasberry Fizz cardstock and trimmed the edge using pinking sheers for my border. I then just added a few aqua colored dots from My Mind's Eye and Darice iridescent sequins. Easy as pie!
Thanks for stopping to visit!
God Bless,
Mandy
You card is fabulous and a great take on this week's MUSE card! I also worked for many years in the Finance and Accounting field, (except for a few years I had off with my boys), and now like you I am also Retired, but for me it's more because of Fibro...since my boys are now grown adults, who I HOPE will bring me some grand babies soon! I also now LOVE spending time in my craft room and find it's the perfect therapy for me!! ENJOY those wonderful years with your little ones and your kitties too!
ReplyDeleteI like the dark sentiment against the bright background. Very nice and bold.
ReplyDeleteBoth cards amaze me!! You are very clever and I so enjoy following you!! Thanks for sharing your creative genius with others!!!
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful, LOVE the papers you have chosen! (be warned.... this technique is addictive lol)
ReplyDeleteThis looks great - I love the peek of aqua! So glad you joined us at Muse this week!
ReplyDeleteMandy, your card is amazing. I love the patten paper background and the patten paper on the thank you. The contrast is amazing. Your photos are good. They do not look bad at all. I can see everything clearly. Don't worry. Great job.
ReplyDeletePretty combination of patterned papers.
