Colour Q #137 and PPA 135

For this card (a recent favorite!) I used the weekly Colour Q colors and the Pals Paper Arts Sketch.

PPA135

With the school year coming to a close, teacher gifts and honoring new graduates is filling up my "to do" list. My daughter likes this creation for her teacher, so I'm going to cross Ms. Cross off my list!

I'm loving this color combination....For CTMH land, it's Grey Wool, Lilac Mist, Olive, and Crystal Blue.

I stamped the wreath branches in Grey Wool and then added a layer of flowers in Lilac Mist. The berries are stamped in Olive ink. The banner sentiment was stamped in Crystal Blue ink and "rocked and rolled" in Chocolate ink. I then added the Lilac colored gems for dimension and interest as berries.
Supplies used:
All CTMH unless otherwise noted --
Olive Cardstock; Colonial White cardstock; Sweet Leaf (Emporium Level 2 kit)
patterned paper: stamp set: "Remarkable Wreath", Color Ready-Seam Binding,
Bohemian collection button, Crystal Blue Waxy Flax, Chocolate ink pad,
Punch: EK Success; Wood grain stamp from Grunge collection,
Skipping Stones Designs; Lilac gems, KaiserCrafts

The ribbon at the top of the card is CTMH's Color Ready Seam Binding - it comes in white and I colored it matching blue using a sponge dauber and a Crystal Blue ink pad. All edges and sufaces of papers are distressed with chocolate ink using a sponge brush from the CTMH distressing kit. After stamping the wood grain in Grey Wool ink, I sanded it down and stippled chocolate ink on it, as well, to enhance my "rustic" look.

I was feeling ambitious and also embellished the inside of the card and fashioned a pocket to hold a gift card for my daughter's teacher. I mimiced the layout on the front of the card for the pocket and greeting area.

The sentiment inside is stamped in Grey Wool with the artisan label stamped, trimmed, and adhered seperately for dimension. The branch is stamped in Second Generation Olive ink. I finished it off with a bow using Crystal Blue Waxy Flax. The same Emporium patterned paper and Olive cardstock stip was used on the pocket to match the design on the front of the card.

Thanks for looking! Don't forget to check out the artwork at Colour Q and Pals Paper Arts.
