Hello!
I'm actually popping in this morning to share a "just for fun" card! My first one in quite some time. Wow. It's been a crazy few weeks! :) But, I'm getting things back under control and loving every minute of it. We are getting settled and things are starting to feel like "home". (Most of the time.) :)
I wanted to play with some new MFT goodies I had to buy a few weeks ago. (Just because I wasn't crafting doesn't mean I wasn't shopping.....GULP! Please don't tell The Hubs!) So I'm playing along with the
MFT sketch challenge. My first time in eons!
And my "Get back in the game" card:
I paper pieced the bunnies from the Snuggle Bunnies stamp set because I wasn't feeling the mojo this weekend with my Copic markers. I'm still a big ole Newb with them and usually love experimenting, but I probably scrap more than I actually use. Sometimes I think it's my limited color selection? Just doesn't work with what I'm doing. Anyhoo, I put them up and had better luck.
I still used the dies to cut the base layer that I stamped on white cardstock. Then trimmed and adhered my colored pieces to those die cut bunnies. I added accents with a Copic markers for better detail (thank you very much - not all was lost) and they turned out pretty cute!
Before sticking anything on the card base, I stamped the Geometric Grid background in Gray Hare pigment ink (Color Box). I sponged Distress inks (Fossilized Amber and Broken China) for the little background and then added the grassy die cut MFT chevron paper over the sweet bunnies.
Here are some close ups because the fabulous, subtle background isn't picked up in the photo.
And a close up for the paper piecing:
I finished this one off with a matching inside (Which I NEVER do) because I know where this one is going already. Mailbox today!
I'm also playing along with
The Card Concept's "You Are My Sunshine" challenge - with my card in the Clean and Simple category.
Well, that's all for me this time! It's good to be back and breaking things back in - even though it's slowly. Back to my housework now! ;) After all, a woman's work is never done!
God Bless,
Mandy
