Marc & I have been busy tonight. We are meeting his family tomorrow for lunch to celebrate his dad's birthday. Since I got home first, I got the cake in the oven for Marc and started supper. While he was working his magic and the kids were playing, I snuck upstairs to make a birthday card using the PDCC colors for this week. (Check out the challenge here.)
I can't remember what I was thinking about, but in the middle of a trip in between the kitchen and garage where the children were playing, I had an idea come to my head about using clouds to represent ice cream on a cone. My first thought was the paper in the Splendor packet that had clouds on it, but once I made it to my room, I remembered the "Around the Block" stamp set. I used my circle cutter to cut the background for the ice cream, heat embossed with white embossing powder on the Colonial White cardstock (I used a textured sponge to apply the glue), and lightly colored the edges with a sponge dauber and Desert Sand ink. The cone was stamped with a dashed-line stamp in a criss-cross pattern and heat set clear embossing powder.
For accents, the cherry was stamped and cut out, using the Cherry-O WOTG kit stamp and the scalloped edge was stamped and cut out from the "Priceless Love" stamp set.
Below my picture, is the Elmer Fudd cake Marc made for Papa. He will love it! :)
