CASual Fridays #110 - Count Me In

Hello --

I'm chilling with my kiddos on a rainy afternoon - watching a movie and seriously considering a catnap! :) I thought I would use the 'downtime' to share a card I made for a friend of my daughter's. I used the CASual Friday number challenge to make this girlie birthday card.

CFC110: Use a number or numbers on your CAS creation

Here is my card using some of my daughter's paper from a DCWV stack (it was a paper doll collection, complete with coordinating 12x12 paper. She gave me a bunch of the leftover paper.)

I stamped the number in Lagoon ink on Lagoon cardstock and trimmed it before adhering on 3-D adhesive foam tape for dimension. The scalloped circle is Watermelon cardstock. And the twine is Lilac from The Twinery. I stamped the sentiment from my Card Word Puzzle (CTMH) set. Fortunately, my daughter really loved it!

Freshly Made Sketches #95

Good evening -- One more card to share tonight! I've already mentioned in posts earlier today that I completed a card set for a birthday gift I'll need this weekend while visiting my family back home. I've  been sharing cards I made for the set and have one I made based on this week's Freshly Made Sketch.

I'm using my CTMH "Dotty For You" paper pack from last summer. The colors are so fun and happy. It's made a really cute set. I like seeing the cards all set out next to each other. {Nerd alert!}

I used my CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to cut the label and oval on which I stamped the sentiment. I used Lagoon ink to match the papers, added a bit of Lagoon ribbon, and a pink button tied with twine.

Mojo Monday #302

I'm on a posting roll! Ha! .... I wish I would say I'm totally back in my groove, but I know this little spurt is short-lived. As you may have read from my previous posts today (more than one - I know!), I finished up a gift set today and I used the sketch or idea challenges when I could to boost along my progress. I got my groove going with a mini-marathon session this morning in my crafty space.

Still using my "Dotty For You" packet to keep the cards more uniform.

Loved this Mojo sketch.

Here is my card using more of the Lagoon and Sunset colors. This sentiment is from the CTMH "Words Of Comfort" stamp set. I used Color Ready Seam Binding ribbon, a silver glittery designer brad, silver sequins and washi tape to dress it up a bit.

Seize the Birthday and Moxie Fab Challenges!

I love it when I can combine challenges -- it feels like a fun form of multi-tasking. Today, while still working on my coordinated card set for a gift, I realized my favorite birthday card (from the set) could go with the "Anything Goes" challenge over at Seize the Birthday AND the Moxie Fab Birthday Card Challenge. This made me quite happy! And after having two boys all day AND a headache (I don't think they're related) I thought catching a little break was a good omen. =)

The patterned paper used to die-cut the "happy" is Lagoon dots from my "Dotty For You" CTMH paper pack from last summer. (I need to get busy making sets with my "Dream Pop" from this year! Yikes. -- you know what they say, "So much paper, so little time!")

I love how this turned out - using the script font "birthday" (Smoothie ink) from my Bigger Blooms PTI stamp set. I added washi tape and dots to make it look more finished.

CASual Fridays Challenge #109

Hello -- I'm back, as promised, today with another card to share. I created a little last night before bed and played along with the CASual Friday challenge. I almost always love the challenge each week, but rarely make the time to play!

This week's challenge is to use polka dots. Who can resist?!

CFC109: Clean And Simple creations (watch that "white" space) with polka dots

Today, I completed a card set that is to be a gift - all using my CTMH "Dotty For You" paper pack from last year. I love how this one turned out. I paired the Lagoon colored dots with die cut blooms from my PTI Rosie Posie stamp set. I chose ink colors found in other patterned paper from the paper pack, Sunflower, Pear, and Sunset. They are quite striking together.

The sentiment is stamped from the Communique Sentiments Mini Stamp set and Lagoon Baker's Twine from CTMH.

Thanks for visiting! Hope everyone is having a great summer!

Color Throwdown #250!

Oh my poor little neglected blog! .....What can I say other than, "It's summer."? Wow. Busy, busy. It's a full-time job entertaining The Piglets. I try to keep it balanced so that we have "down days" at home, but I'm not all that crafty or bloggy on our down days as I need to recover, too!

I have squeezed in a couple of challenges tonight and want to share one now. I hope to get to the other tomorrow.

Color Throwdown is celebrating it's FIVE YEAR Blogiversary with some beautiful colors and a list of prizes! What fun! The colors are so light and summery.

I decided to do a little eclectic/country mix with the chicken wire embossing (Cuttlebug) on Kraft and the geometric washi tapes. Softened it up with the rose stamps and dies (Rosie Posie, PTI) and loved how it turned out. The sentiment is from a Skipping Stones Design stamp set I have hanging around. (It's had a longer shelf life than some of my "impulse buys" usually do, but the pretty little script sentiments work so well on many projects.) I die cut the leaves using my Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge (CTMH).

This one was fun to make and throw all the elements together. They reside quite peacefully together, even though it's a mix I don't usually create. =)

Colour Q #195 and Round Repeats

I'm back from a quick weekend trip to visit my family. We had tons of fun this weekend, watching the piglets (all 7!) play in the pool and, basically, wreak havoc on our sanity for 48 hours. =) Nah, actually, they were all pretty well-behaved this time. For those who don't know me, I have two piglets 7 and 9 and 5 nieces and nephews, ages, 7, 8, and 3. There are three boys (cousins) all age 7 -- an adventure, believe me! (They are really pretty funny together.)

I'm here to share a card I made before we got out of town. It's using the current Colour Q challenge colors.

I'm using my new PTI, Round Repeats stamp set which is the most fun. My CTMH colors are Gypsy (second-generation, because I don't have anything lighter), Goldrush, Sky, and Grey Wool.

This one is pretty CAS. Made it in a jiffy! =)
