Hello!
I'm popping in to share a few cards I made playing around with a new stamp I got last week. I had a "spell" in my craft room and I cleaned house. I don't know what came over me, but I got in a mood and I sold off most all my stamps! My daughter was laughing at me and kept saying "What are you doing?!". So, needless to say, I had to order a few more to replace them. And, I've been having fun playing with new ones...
So, I should preface this by saying if you don't like elephants, you probably don't want to look at all these. I was practicing my coloring, then made several cards with what I had colored and cut out. :)
This little sweetie is colored with Prismacolor Pencils. I layered it over patterned paper scraps using diecuts from various Blueprints from MFT. :D I used the large grid stencil and Cement Gray ink to make a subtle background over the Kraft card base.
I'm playing along with these challenges:
Inkspirational - Patterned Paper,
Just Add Ink - sketch challenge, and
The Paper Girls - color challenge.
Next up, is.....another elephant! :D
I used Distress Inks and Masking tape to make a fun background. I've been wanting to try this technique for ages and finally sat myself done with a little TV and did it!
I die cut the inked panel (Fossilized Amber and Spiced Marmalade) using MFT's Double Stitched Rectangle DieNamics STAX and matted it before adhering to the Soft Stone PTI card base. I used Copic markers for coloring and finished it all off with a twine bow from Lawn Fawn and sequins from Pretty Pink Posh.
For my last card -- more elephants -- I used the current
MFT Sketch (turned landscape) and a blended/distressed panel I've been hanging onto for eons but never used. (insert eye roll -- I drive myself crazy!)
I just love this one. It's so cute and fun and happy. :) The distressed panel was die cut using the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX and the scallop and banner strip from various Blueprints DieNamics. The elephant, flower, and butterfly were colored with Copic markers before die cutting.
Well, that's it for me today. I'm off to tackle more painting and excited to get started. 8-) I think I'll miss it when I get the house finished! Eeks!
Thanks SO much for stopping by to visit! Please come back again soon! :)
God Bless,
Mandy
