Digi Crab and Summer Colors

Hello!

I'm popping in on a rainy (FINALLY) summer day to share another little card I made with more fun from Digi Box Designs.

I used the Digi Sea Baby Crab again. I loved this one so much from this card that I wanted to color him up again. :) This time I sponged Summer Splash ink around my Stitched Die Cut Circle and layered it all over a stenciled background (using Geometric Grid stencil from MFT and their Pineapple dye ink). I used the MFT Stitched Fishtail Flag STAX and fabric scraps my lovely sister passes to me for the accents behind the focal circle. The sentiment is stamped and trimmed using Lawn Fawn's Chit Chat set. I finished it all off with a button, enamel dots, and Twinery twine.  :) Voila! :)

I used the sketch over at The Paper Players for inspiration for my card design.

I'm also playing along with Cards In Envy's Summer/Hot challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday "Anything Goes" Challenge

I Miss You Penguin

Hello!

I wanted to hop in here quickly and share a fun little card I made last week to send in a package I was mailing my longtime friend who moved to a different part of the state. I rarely see her anymore and job changes make it harder for us to "chat" (which for us means texting and giggling until the wee hours of the night. :D)

I used the Freshly Made Sketch and one of the Birdie Brown penguins I had pre-colored weeks ago for my inspiration.

I used MFT's TagBuilder 4 to die cut my tag and the Birdie Brown stamp and die set Penguins in Paradise. The Tim Holtz sun stencil with Pineapple dye ink and Lawn Fawn twine around the tag top. Very fun to layer up and create this one!

I am also playing along with 613 Avenue Create Create Your Own Challenge and Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Things With Wings. (I had to verify that penguins did, in fact, have wings. Ha! I felt kinda stupid to tell truth.)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog

For 613 challenge I used the following from Columns 1-5:
1. Image - stamped
2. Die cut
3. Stencil
4. Faux stitching (on the tag - both patterned pieces have it)
5. Bakers twine

Christmas Card Challenges #34 - Anything Goes

Hello!

It's time for another challenge over at Christmas Card Challenges. Whaaat?! Where is the time going?! Yikes. Summer break is almost over. The Piglets only have two more weeks left. Blowing my mind.

So this week is another fun "Anything Goes" week. It was the perfect chance to use some more of my adorable Birdie Brown "Cool Cat" images I had paper pieced when I first received this set. I've had a couple left hanging out on my desk and I've wanted to Christmas one up for a couple of weeks!

I added the little antlers that I stamped and trimmed from the little reindeer in Birdie Brown's Jingle All the Way set. I layered some paper scraps from Lawn Fawn's Snow Day paper pack, included a piece diecut using MFT Stitched Jumbo Fishtail Flags STAX. The background is stenciled with Abandoned Coral Distress Ink and the Harlequin stencil. The button flair is from Glitz Designs.

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit! Please come back soon. :)

ABC Christmas - O is for "Overlay"

Hello!

I'm popping in quickly this morning to share my card for the latest ABC Christmas Challenge. :)
 'O' for Overlay
there are many ways you can use an overlay on cards, you can use acetate, vellum or you could even choose paper or card which needs to be lifted before you can see what is underneath. We will be looking froward to seeing what you choose to use!

The sponsor of this challenge is

Winner will receive two free digis of their choice
from Wendy’s Etsy shop

Hi I am Wendy Burns I live in Nottingham UK with my husband and two children who have been the inspiration behind the characters, in particular my daughter who has kept me up-to-date with blogging and trends. I work predominantly within the textile children’s wear market, fashion and interiors.
I trained as a textile designer and although my work is digital based, I love to retain that hand drawn /sewn feel which I hope comes across in my artwork.
Digital stamps is a new challenge for me and the opportunity to work with the All Dressed Up Team and has been very exciting, in particular the creative way my characters have been given individual personalities by the designers .
All Dressed Up is a newly launched blog with an enthusiastic team who are passionate about stamping.  The coordinators Marilyn and Tracy along with an amazing design team are also known as The Dressy Girls.
We have a friendly Facebook page, regular blog posts, tutorials, challenges and freebies. The stamps can be purchased from the Etsy shop which is updated on a monthly basis. We really are friendly bunch and would love to see your creations so please feel free to contact us and visit the All Dressed Up Challenge Blog.

I used one of my favorite combinations of vellum diecut with my MFT Jumbo Polka Dot cover plate and layered it over an adorable CTMH patterned paper.

The patterned papers are from the Snowhaven kit from Close To My Heart. (SO pretty -- I've been hoarding it for almost 2 years I think.) I die cut a circle of PTI Rustic White using MFT Stitched Circle STAX and then stamped (Red Versa Fine ink) and clear embossed an older PTI stamp set. Everything is layered over a light blue card base, coordinating from the same paper kit. Super fun and easy to make! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by to visit and do please come back again soon!

Playing with Paper Smooches

Hello!

I'm here to share a couple of cards I've made over the weekend with my (way too limited) crafty time. I'm hoping for a more relaxing week where we can all get some rest. After several weeks of running all over the county, we need to chill out and I'm hoping to get rid of some allergy issues by resting up. Hopefully, that will mean a little extra crafting, too. ;) Hee hee.

For my first card, I relaxed late one night with some old, classic TV, a bunch of paper piecing, and my PS Wake Up set. I've been on a piecing kick lately and I want to do it with all my stamps. It's kind of fun to prep several and then have them ready for a card-a-thon when the mojo strikes. (Not that it's striking me alot lately. Boo!)

I started by sponging MFT inks In the Buff and Pineapple, then stamping and masking my scene. I then stamped each image again on my paper scraps and made little piles that went with each image. Then I could sit back and trim away and layer on with a glue pen. I have to be "in a mood" to do all that hand trimming, but I've realized I kind of enjoy it - and it's fun to see all the different looks you can get from the same stamps.

I used the sketch from CASE this Sketch for my card design.

I'm also playing along with AAA Cards - Use a Stash Favorite (patterned paper) and Simon Says Stamp - Wednesday Challenge - Create a Scene.

Simon Wednesday Challenge Blog

For my next card, I did a bunch of masking, stamping, and coloring. :) Great "Veg-out" work - no pun intended here. Ha!

Edited: Cleaner version of card! I wasn't happy with my original card base.

I stamped the tomatoes from the Green Thumb set repeatedly in a stack before stamping the last poor little tomato upside down and on the ground. He didn't make it. :) I colored them with Copic markers and added the little snail, sentiment, and lines after I sponged the background.

I wanted to play along with the current Paper Smooches "Summer" challenge and since I live in the South, nothing says summer like fresh tomatoes.

I'm also playing along with Cards in Envy - "Heat Wave" challenge for summer cards and the Simply Less Is More - "Repetition" challenge.

Well. That's all for me now. it's only taken me two or three tries to write this post. Ha. I'm sure I'm not the only one with that problem sometimes. Thanks SO much for stopping by - I so appreciate having visitors here in my little blogland. Hope you are having a great week and know that God loves you! :)

Christmas Card Challenges #33 - Color Challenge

Hello!

I'm popping in to share my card for the latest Christmas Card Challenge. We have a color challenge with some traditional colors for inspiration.

I went with a simple die cut Christmas tree using my Silhouette Curio ( a new bday present from The Hubs) and some fun layered patterned papers I've had in my stash forever.

Super simple and quick to make! The tree cardstock doesn't show up well in this photo (Boo) but it's a gold woodgrain over white. Really pretty "Specialty" cardstock I got at Michael's when I was hunting for something different to test out in my Curio. I used the Deep Cut Blade and it did pretty good. It will take me some getting used to for knowing how to set the depth.

Well that's it for me this morning. :) Thanks so much for stopping by to visit!

Digi Box Designs - Digi Dolphin Shaker Card

Hello!

I'm popping in to share a fun little shaker card I made today using the adorable new Digi Dolphin over at Digi Box Designs.

I sized and printed this little guy using my Silhouette Studio software, then colored him up with Copic markers. Super cute. I then cut him out using my PixScan mat (GREAT tool for digi stamps! and you can do it for any size!)

I've layered him over a shaker box I made using Stitched Square Frame DieNamics and Pretty Pink Posh sequins, (Aquamarine 6mm and Marshmallow 4mm). The background is Distress Inks (Peacock Feathers, Wilted Violet, and Cracked Pistachio) over an MFT circle burst stencil all die cut using Blueprints 25. I stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Chit Chat and cut it myself as I haven't sprung for the dies.

I'm playing along with a few challenges this time, too.

ABC Christmas Challenge - N for No Rules

Hello!  ABC Christmas Challenge

I'm popping in this evening to share my card for the current ABC Christmas Challenge. This week we are up to the letter N for No Rules. :) So it's anything goes (as long as it's Christmas)! A perfect time to join in the festivities.

Our sponsor for this challenge is the fabulous Bugaboo Stamps:
One lucky participant will win 7 digis of their choice!

I used my LLD Hug in a Mug stamp and die set to create my card - along with a little sketch inspiration from the 52 Christmas Card Throwdown.

I used papers from Lawn Fawn's Snow Day 6x6 pad and the mug is using some CTMH paper scraps I have on hand. I used Amuse Studio Latte pigment ink and Typewriter Text background stamp on my Stitched Circle die cut center piece. Some scrap white Core D'Nations cardstock was perfect for diecutting those marshmallows - it gave some great texture! 8-)

I'm also playing along with The Paper Players "Christmas In July" challenge this week.

Christmas Card Challenges - #31 Photo Inspiration

Hello!

I'm popping in this morning with my (late. Sorry!) post for this week's Christmas Card Challenge. We have a photo inspiration for you this time....

For me, it made me think of Santa. And if I think of Santa and my Christmas crafty goodies, I get a little giddy at the excuse to use my Birdie Brown Jingle All the Way set. 8-) hee hee.

I colored my images up with Copic markers then die cut and layered over my background of Chevron (MFT) and stripes (LF) cut with Blueprints 13 and the Stitched Snow Drift DieNamics. I used Blueprints 27 for the banner and stamped the sentiment on it before adhering with the Santa, who's popped up on foam tape.

I'm also playing along with The Paper Players "Christmas in July" challenge.

A little digi stamp fun...

Hello!

I'm popping in on this lovely evening to share a super fun little card I made this afternoon! :) I had originally planned on a day of crafting in The Fortress of Solitude but my Sunday afternoon nap took priority. Boo! I had to do it - I couldn't hold my eyes open! :)

I had to play with this super cute digi crab from over at Digi Box Designs. It's currently on sale right now, so great time to pick it up and play around if you have the urge. :)

I resized the image and printed it from my Silhouette Studio software. I colored with Copic markers and then cut out using my Silhouette PixScan mat. (I love that thang!) I used a Hero Arts Chevron stencil and Summer Splash (MFT) dye ink. I then layered a few scraps of patterned papers in blues and red to match the sketch I liked over at Retro Sketches. I LOVE red and blues together. My all time favorite combo. I used some enamel stickers overlapping the papers at a seam and a button tied with twine from The Twinery on another "seam" of layered papers. The sentiment is stamped from Lawn Fawn's Chit Chat stamp set.

I'm also playing along with the current inspiration over at Curtain Call challenge, Just Us Girls challenge, and Pals Paper Arts.
