Well Katy, Bar the Door! Two posts in one night! =)
Actually, I'm not feeling well tonight, I've been battling a nasty headache all day, and I feel semi-decent sitting in a quiet room with a laptop. I figure this way I'm a little productive even though I'm taking it easy. Since I'm a woman AND a mother, multi-tasking is essential! ; )
I whipped out a little fun card for CASual Fridays today. And it is definitely CAS - alot of white space this time. :) This challenge is to have some element of the card going over the edge of the cardfront.
I chose to make this cute little hot air balloon be drifting away and already escaping the card. I've thought that this image placement would be great as a "Miss You" card and, thankfully, I actually remembered the idea today.
I used my Studio Calico stampset, "Heyday Thoughts", and the sentiment from PaperSmooches, "Sentiment Sampler" (Use this one ALL the time!). The sunny yellow enamel dots are Teresa Collins and the Sweet Leaf colored cardstock for the card base is CTMH.

Play Date Cafe #187
Hello there!
It's sweltering here in TN, but it's beautiful and sunny so we shouldn't complain, right? =)
I was able to squeeze in some crafty time this afternoon after morning yardwork and before an afternoon matinee with the piglets and friends from church. We saw the new Monsters University movie. It was adorable, of course. We all liked it.
Now I'm trying to do the "responsible" thing and share a card I took the time to make! I created one last week inspired by a challenge and surprise, surprise I never remembered to share it and link up. Ugh. Why this is such a problem for me, I'm not sure I can fully understand or describe.
On to business-- Play Date Cafe - I fooled around and almost missed this one even though I loved these colors! Today I was playing with some new stamps (my Mother's Day gift certificate is now gone. I'm in mourning! ha) and I thought, "I should look at Play Date again. ----- OH YEAH! I loved those colors. Why haven't I done these yet?!" Please tell me I'm not the only one who has those moments. =)
Look at this fun:
Here is my card made as an encouragement card for a young man (13th birthday in the hospital a few weeks ago) in the hospital out-of-state. He's the oldest son of a dear family from our church, recently undergone a bone marrow transfusion. Poor thing - they planned it for summer to avoid missing as much school as possible - makes me want to pinch mine (even more) if they ever complain of being bored around here on their summer break!
I used PaperTrey Ink's "Live Love Life" stamp set. I jumped on it when it came out this month because it's out of my "normal" zone for stamps. I'm trying to expand my repertoire and it's so fun. I feel like I make myself get more creative this way. I just "play around" and experiment and, oftentimes, the end results become some of my favorite pieces. (I LERVE when that happens!)

I really loved how this turned out! These colors are fab together and I'm not so sure I would have ever put them together. In CTMH world the colors are Sweet Leaf, Juniper, and Sunset. The card base is Juniper cardstock. It's almost a one-layer card, but I rarely, if ever, can leave one alone with a single layer! I have to mess with it. The U was stamped on scrap paper, trimmed, and popped up on 3-D Adhesive foam tape. The little enamel dots are from My Mind's Eye. (I want these in every color. I'm addicted!)
Thanks for stopping by. Hop you are having a fantabulous summer so far!

Play Date #186 - Black & White + Splash
Hi there....Yes, it's still late, but I'm up - might as well put one more post up. This card is my "most favorite" (I'm too tired to edit my own grammar!) one I've made in a while. I really just played while I was making it and it turned out to be fun.
For this week's Play Date Cafe Challenge, the colors are Black and White with a splash of Nectarine. I translated that to CTMH's Smoothie. (Because I have to do that to visualize properly. The whole world can be translated to a CTMH color palette in my head or in, my fellow crafter, Gina's head. We wave that nerd flag proudly!)
Here is my card using Black, White, and Smoothie and featuring my new CTMH stamp set, "Sightseer". I'm using it on everything these days!
The camera and "oh, snap!" sentiment are from "Sightseer". I've added "Bubble Wrap" embossing on part of the card base from a Tim Holtz embossing folder, sponged black ink over the embossing for visual effect, and stamped random black paint splatters (from "Grunge" Skipping Stones Design). The label was die cut using my CTMH Art Philosophy catridge and I lightly stamped the chevrons from my TAWS "Background Basics" stamp set. Finished it all off with some black striped washi tape and Smoothie colored banners. The bottom sentiment "I didn't forget your birthday" is from CTMH "Card Chatter - Birthday". The inside reads ..."I'm just extending the celebration!" It's not a matter of if, but when I will need a belated card. Kind of ironic to make one ahead of time, I guess, but I have THAT much faith in myself.

Colour Q #193
Good evening. (Almost morning - Yikes!)
I've played around on the computer for an hour and a half, was about to turn in, when I remembered, GASP, my Colour Q post! Since I actually found the time to participate with a few challenges this week, I'd like to share them. I have to take these moments as the come, since I don't know when I'll get another! ; ) Ha!
Here are the fun, summery colors this week:
Here is my card using "Lucy" background paper and my new "Pedal Pusher" stamp set from PTI.

The sentiment is from PTI's "Botannical Silhouettes". CTMH colors used are Sweet Leaf, Lagoon, Ocean, and Tulip. I used Lagoon colored cardstock strips to frame the accent panel which is popped up on 3-D Adhesive Foam Tape. The red twine is from Doodlebug Designs.

Moxie Fab World: 350 Cards & Gifts -- one more!
Good evening --
I have one more post to share for a set of bookmarks I made for the Moxie Fab World Gift challenge. This challenge is one of many hosted to celebrate the release of Paper Crafts special issue, 350 Cards & Gifts.
I made this set of bookmarks for one of my favorite besties ever. She's (basically) finished an exhausting battle against Breast Cancer (very healthy today! Yay!!!) and the fun part is she is THE biggest reader I know! We talk daily about what we are reading and get together regularly to share books. It's so much fun and rewarding. We have been doing it since we were kids and we still love it. NERD CITY. 8-)
So I thought she'd love these bookmarks. I bought these stamp sets when she was diagnosed so I could send her cards each week as she underwent treatment. I am using Skipping Stones Designs, "Cancer Schmancer" and Amuse Studio Breast Cancer Awareness set that was offered FREE in October 2012. (It was a perfect addition to my mounding collection!)

Of course, I thorougly enjoyed playing with all the pink. (ribbon, washi tape, ink, twine, etc.) I can't wait to "gift" these to her -- she will love them!

Moxie Fab World: 350 Cards & Gifts Challenge
Good evening.
I almost forgot about my posts! I've been busy with "issues" around the house today. One of us was diagnosed with asthma today and serious allergies to cats (we have 3, thanks very much) and dust mites (how can I worka against that?!). So, needless to say, I was quite busy today working in bedrooms, dusting, vacuuming, washing sheets and bedding, & removing other possible irritants. We even had to do some shopping for different types of bedding covers and what-not. It's good it was caught and we know what we should be doing; for that we are so grateful. But I'm not gonna lie (1) I miss my cats! Sniffle. (They are having to stay outdoors now instead of indoor/outdoors spoiled little ones!) and (2) I am tired as a woman!!!
SO, I'm quite lucky I remembered my posts for Moxie Fab World's Card Set Challenge because I had made a couple of things I wanted to share! One is a gift card set I made for my daughter's teacher at the end of the school year. We were able to give it to her last week.
Most everything I stamped with my CTMH "School Is Here" stamp set. It is SO cute and I've found so many things I can do with it!

I added a couple of sentiments from my PTI "Botannical Silhouettes" stamp set and PaperSmooches "Sentiment Sampler". The patterned paper is from a DCWV 6x6 All Ocassions paper pack. Mrs. Stafford loved it!
The gift case for my card set is a "recycled" plastic holder that a new stamp set came in. I decided it was perfect as a clear container to show off the cards. I wrapped a piece of solid red cardstock around it and then added patterned paper and embellished. Super fun to make!
I am also entering this set into the 4 Crafty Chicks weekly challenge for the "Recycle" Crazy Egg Challenge this week!
