PDCC129 and CFC 50

A two-fer. I love when that happens. And, since I've been absent from both craft-land AND blog-land for lo' these many weeks, I need all the two-fers I can get.

I'm hope-hope-hoping, I'm beginning to get back on track! Between the hubby's demanding schedule keeping him away from home more and me covering the duties at home along with my own demanding job, I've been hopping! It goes well - but I've learned that I "survive" much better, if I stick to my routine and stay on task and REST (when I can)!

This weeks Play Date colors and the CAS-ual Friday challenge to use flowers, in honor of spring's arrival, coordinated perfectly with this card I have wanted to make for several days.

And, the "thinking of you" sentiment is perfect for a friend who had surgery last week. She will love the colors and the natural-looking blooms from PaperTrey Ink's 'Botanical Silhouette' stamp set.

I used the Close To My Heart ink colors Grey Wool, Orchid Bouquet (LONG ago retired), and Sweet Leaf. The sentiment is stamped in VersaFine Black ink, to make sure it pops on the card.

This card was VERY simple. It is ink and cardstock and that's it! (And only one stamp set used.) I marked off the area I wanted to stamp in the center with a ruler and light pencil mark, then masked it off with Scotch tape. I found that allowed me to better stamp right up to the edge in a straight line. When I use cardstock to mask, I tend to leave gaps in my images even though I feel I'm going to press the top of my desk through the floor!

The white panel is matted on a piece of gray textured DCWV cardstock.

Thanks for looking!
