PTI's Anniversary Celebration, Challenges and a Blog-A-Versary Giveaway!

Hello!

I have an exciting post today. (Exciting to me, anyway). I'm super happy to host a giveaway here on my blog for my 4th year BlogAVersary! I wanted to be super punctual and post this on the actual date (Feb 4th), but The Plague Debacle of 2015 had other ideas. We are still struggling here and I may even be relapsing, but I'm trying not to think about it!

So --- before I get to my cards to share, I'm letting you know that I will have a giveaway for one of my followers here on my blog, winner to be announced next Saturday, February 14th. Please leave a comment and become a follower (if not already) to be eligible for the random draw. Please be sure to check back here, as sometimes email communication is not readily available via Blogger or BlogLovin. :) (However, I will do my best to contact the winner in addition to announcing here.) Thank you for celebrating 4 bloggy years with me! I didn't know what I was starting when I opened this blog and posted a few cards to play along with a challenge or two. I surely never suspected, it'd make me want to drop scrapbooking like a sack of hot potatoes (EEKS. Another problem for another day!) or that it would lead to MUCHO fun publications, contest wins and new "virtual friends and connections". It really is fun and helps me keep my sanity!

On to the fun part -- card share!

I had some much needed crafty time last night. The first real session in a couple of weeks due to you-know-what. I made several cards for an OWH stash I'm wanting to mail out in the next week and then played along with PTI's 8th anniversary celebration, as well as other fun challenges.

The first one I want to show you is from the CASE-Maile Belle's-work. I LOVE her style! I envy her style, if I'm being perfectly honest. CAS perfection. The kind that makes me go "Oooohhhh, I love that!" quickly followed by a "Why can't I come up with something like that?!". 8-)

So....I CASE'd this card. (It was hard to decide, I have so many of hers pinned.)

Strawberry Patch Revisited - Thank You Berry Much Card by Maile Belles for Papertrey Ink (March 2014)

I used PTI's "On The Farm" set. (My first PTI set and still a fave!)

My card base is a card from a DCWV box (I'm deciding those are kinda handy to have around.) The base was a solid pink and I stamped the chicken wire pattern using "Background Basics: Farm & Barn" in Rasberry Fizz ink. I then die cut the hog from my accent panel and backed it with some BoBunny Valentine paper (Scraps in my stash from long ago). I then stamped the 100% Country Stamp and checker pattern using CTMH Blush ink. And added the sentiment with Black VersaFine ink. I LOVE how it turned out. (Again, why can't I come up with this on my own?! Ha! Yay for fellow crafters inspiration.)

I'm also entering this in other inspiration challenges that prodded my theme idea along:
 This week's Mashup Challenge is:
  • Create a project with the colors "Red, White & Pink".
  • Create a project with "a Love theme".
  • or Mash it Up! and create a "Love themed project using the above colors".

My next card is for Day 1 of the PTI anniversary challenge/celebration. You choose one color theme and one sketch with which to play. Here are my choices:

I used my Chevron cutting plate and Bigger Blooms stamp set:

I used White, True Black, and Pure Poppy cardstock. My inks are Hibiscus Burst and CTMH colors Topiary, Sky, and Tulip. (Don't have the coordinating PTI inks as of now.)

I'm also entering with the following challenges:

Annnnnd, last but not least -- I was playing around with my fun little Paper Smooches collection again. I had fun mixing several sets.

I used my Sugar Rush, Incognito, and Freezy Fellas stamp sets to make my little candy couple. The hat, necktie and bow are from Freezy Fellas; glasses, eyes and sentiment from Incognito; and of course the lollipop and posicle are Sugar Rush. Phew. Don't think I missed anything. I sponged Distress inks to ground them, Gathered Twigs on the bottom and Broken China on the top. The patterned papers are from CTMH and dots from MME.

I'm playing along with Paper Smooches SPARKS, Anything Goes:
