This weeks challenge over at
4 Crafty Chicks is to use brads on a project. My card was already an idea in the making since my "Trees N Things" stampset is new and I wanted to play with it! For once, it paid off that I didn't get completely finished with it b/c this afternoon I had an idea that allowed me to work it into this blog challenge. I am grateful for the inspiration -- I knew I needed to take this card to another level and this was the perfect fit!
In addition to the brads, the picture gets a 3-D effect from the natural colored hemp attached for the rope holding the swing to the tree. I stamped the swing image a second time on kraft cardstock and cut out the seat of the swing, gluing it over the edges of the hemp for dimension and to finish it off. I have to add ribbon SOMEWHERE to all my projects and the twill bow gave me a little more substance.
