PPA 137

Good morning!

Hope you are surviving the heat. I am writing to you from a very HOT West TN (over 100 degrees)  with a houseful of kids running around trying to entertain themselves since we won't let them outside! Needless to say, it's a little harried.

I had a few days off this week, so I was able to make projects for several challenges this week. I had fun!

Below is PalsPaperArts sketch:

I used some of my leftover paper from my "Olivia" kit. (I know, I know - me? Leftover paper? ...well, believe it, I did manage to scrounge some up from my vastly hoarded collection of "crap"!)

The stamp set is PaperTrey Ink's Botannical Silhouette's and the ribbon is from "My Craft Spot". The sentiment stamped is from Skipping Stones Design.

I used CTMH colors of Pear and Sunset, the butterfly and brad, and the patterned paper.

Thanks for looking! Have a great weekend in this heat. Pin It

Colour Q #143

I was very excited to get to use my new PaperTrey Ink "On the Farm" stamp set this week. I've had it a few weeks, (inspired to buy it for the farming bunch in my family), and I've not figured out how to use it. But I decided the ColourQ colors this week would be really cute with it.

In CTMH world, I used Cranberry, Honey, Indian Corn Blue, and Grey Wool. The cardstock and canvas button is CTMH; the patterned paper is October Afternoon.

I used "second generation" stamping on the inside of the card. (Stamping off on a scrap piece of paper before stamping on the card without reinking.)

Thanks for looking. Have a great weekend. Pin It

H2H - Father's Day

It has been quite some time since I have participated in a H2H challenge. I always have intentions toward doing so, but time gets the better of me and I don't do it.

Since I needed (a little prodding) to make my hubby a Father's Day card (or I would let time bite me in the rear AGAIN), I used the H2H Father's Day challenge to spear my Mojo for a card for Marcus.

I finally cracked open my "Victory" paper pack yesterday to scrap some photos of the kids fishing and I knew that since I had cut the paper, I could part with some pieces for a card. (So I'm very glad I had started scrapbooking with it. I would have NEVER allowed myself to cut pieces of that gorgeous paper for a card and I love this paper on a masculine card.)

All products are CTMH, of course, except for my wood grain stamp which is Skipping Stones Design. I couldn't resist testing out my idea for this one. I used my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge to cut 3 identical letters for the word "DAD" in white cardstock and then cut 1 set of identical letters in Kraft cardstock. I stamped the wood grain pattern in chocolate ink on top of the kraft cardstock . I then layered all 4 sets of letters on top of each other for thickness. The end result turned out exactly as I'd hoped -- the letters look like they were cut out of wood! (FINALLY, a hair-brained scheme pays off. I had more ideas that didn't turn out yesterday than did. Ugh.)

I also used my AP cartridge to cut the little "stamp" on the left. The "No. 1" [Outdoor Denim ink] is from the "Blue Ribbon" stamp set, the postage stamp items [Chocolate ink] are from "Live Inspired" set. The little adhesive-backed Round Studs are a new favorite! I cracked those open yesterday and have used more than half of the antique color ones. All paper pieces, including the DAD letters, are sponge ink-distressed in Chocolate ink.

Thanks for looking - hope everyone enjoys their Father's Day weekend. I've already promised my hubby lunch at his choice Sunday, so I know I'll be eating well.   (champagne taste and all that.....) Ha!

CFC 55 -- BLING!

Good morning!

This one will be short and sweet -- I have a ton of work I need to get started on! But wanted to make my entry deadline for the Casual Friday "Bling" challenge - b/c bling is one of my favorite embellishments. I love the little pearls of any color. For this challenge, I used some with a tannish tint to match my inked sentiment.

My CTMH ink colors are Sky, Vineyard Berry, and Outdoor Denim. The stamp set is Skipping Stones Design and bling is Recollections (Michael's) - I think I pick more up everytime I run in there! I love the smallest size best and you can get several in a sleeve.

Thanks for looking and have a great weekend. Pin It
